Grand Turk Golf Cart Rental: Why We’d Do It Again (And What We Found)
Yesterday got me thinking more about our stop in Grand Turk…
We didn’t book a big excursion.
But didn’t stay at the cruise port either.
We rented a golf cart—and honestly, it ended up being one of the best decisions of the trip.
🚗 Why We Chose a Golf Cart
We wanted something simple.
No schedule, no group, no rushing back to a meeting spot.
Just grab a cart and explore the island on our own.
And that’s exactly what we did.
🌴 What We Actually Did
With just a little pre-trip research, we were able to:
Drive the island at our own pace
Stop wherever we wanted
Check out different beaches
Explore areas most people don’t see
We even ran into:
Wild donkeys
Wild dogs
Which the kids thought was awesome.
🧭 Getting Around (Easier Than You Think)
Grand Turk is super easy to navigate.
It’s small, flat, and you’re not dealing with crazy traffic.
The only thing you need to remember if you’re from the U.S.:
👉 You drive on the left side of the road
And yeah… the roundabouts go the opposite way.
Got me the first time—but I figured it out quick 😅
🌊 The Best Part (Hidden Beach Find)
At one point, we ended up at a beach that felt completely off the beaten path.
No crowds.
No chaos.
Just clean water and space to relax.
The kind of spot you don’t really find if you’re sticking to the main cruise area.
We hung out there for a bit, then grabbed lunch at a small place right across the street.
Simple day—but honestly one of our favorites.
👍 Why We’d Do It Again
If we went back to Grand Turk tomorrow…
We’d rent a golf cart again without even thinking about it.
It just gives you:
Freedom
Flexibility
A more relaxed experience
Instead of being locked into someone else’s plan.
🔗 If You’re Going to Grand Turk (Our Picks)
We kept it simple and just grabbed a 4-seater, which worked perfectly for our family of four:

If you’ve got a bigger group or just want more space, this is the upgraded option:
👉 6-Seat Luxury Version (others in our group with more kids opted for these):

🗺️ Visual Guide (So You Don’t Get Lost)
Use this map as a quick reference—just follow the red line from the cruise ship through the port and over to the golf cart pickup area.
📍 Where to Pick Up Your Golf Cart (Super Helpful)
This part confused us a little at first, so here’s the simple version so you don’t have to figure it out on the fly:
Once you get off the ship and walk through the cruise port area:
Head past all the shops (just follow the main crowd)
You’ll eventually reach a large parking lot area
From there, cut all the way across the lot
Look for a walking path on the other side
Once you’re on that path:
Walk just a little further
You’ll start to see golf carts lined up
That’s your spot.
We just gave the name of our rental company to one of the guys there and they pointed us exactly where we needed to go.
👉 Super easy once you know where you’re going—but not super obvious the first time.
And yeah… it’s a bit of a walk.
But it’s 100% worth the extra few minutes.

🎒 What We Brought (That Helped)
Towels
Sunscreen
Drinks/snacks
Our go-to backpack (yes… still basically a diaper bag)

🧠 Final Take
This isn’t some over-the-top excursion.
But if you’re the type that likes a little freedom and wants to explore at your own pace—
renting a golf cart in Grand Turk is 100% worth it.
